My daughter's friend called and asked her if she would meet her at the local community center. This is the same girl who overbooked her birthday and my daughter and another friend volunteered to stay home. The same girl who volunteered me to drive without asking me.
Anyone remember that girl?
My daughter talked to her and I dropped her off at the center. Not five minutes after I get home this girl calls and asks for my daughter. I asked her, "Isn't she there? I just dropped her off." This girl says "Well, I'm on my way."
She had her phone on her, no big deal. About 15 minutes later, my daughter calls me. "My friend isn't here. I've tried calling her and there's no answer. And I tried calling another friend who said she has 3 phone numbers and doesn't know which one is which."
Fine. I call the girl on the last number on my phone. Her mother answers. "Oh, I just got home. My daugher is here at home. She had to watch her sister. It's not her fault."
"My daughter has been waiting (now) for almost 20 minutes and (your daughter) has not called her. I'm going to pick her up now. She has homework."
More rude? And this is supposed to be a good friend of my daughter's. Never called back to apologize. I guess because it's not her fault. If my daughter did that, she would be on the phone immediately apologizing.
I must be going nuts. And I was friends with this mother.
